JACKSON, Miss. — A Mississippi store clerk has been arrested in connection with a double shooting at a gas station that left him wounded and killed another man.

News outlets report 26-year-old Chris Conley was charged with murder in the Saturday death of 31-year-old James Terrell McGee. Authorities say the shooting occurred at a Chuk Stop in Jackson on Friday.

Jackson police Sgt. Roderick Holmes says McGee was allegedly trying to shoplift from the store, which led to an argument with Conley. As McGee left the store, Conley pulled out a gun and shot McGee in the head. Conley also accidentally shot himself in the hand. Further details have not been released.

It’s unclear if Conley has a lawyer.
