Top overall draft pick Myles Garrett is inactive again for the Cleveland Browns, further delaying his NFL debut.

Garrett missed his fourth straight game Sunday with a sprained right ankle. The heralded rookie defensive end returned to practice on Thursday for the first time since Sept. 6, and there had been hope he might be able to play against the Bengals. However, he’s not quite ready and the Browns will remain patient. Cleveland hosts the New York Jets next week.

Injuries like Garrett’s — the dreaded high ankle sprain — typically take four to six weeks to heal. The former Texas A&M All-American made quicker progress than the team expected, but the Browns don’t want to take any risks and will rest him again.

Garrett also sustained a foot sprain during spring minicamp and he was slowed by a sprained left ankle last year with the Aggies.

Cleveland will also be without starting linebacker Jamie Collins, who missed his second game with a concussion, and defensive tackle Danny Shelton. He injured his left calf this week in practice.

Out for the Bengals are first-round pick WR John Ross, S Derron Smith, LB Jordan Evans, G Christian Westerman, G Trey Hopkins, WR Josh Malone, TE Tyler Eifert.

WR J. Ross (knee), S D. Smith (ankle), OL C. Westerman (healthy), G T. Hopkins (knee), WR J. Malone (healthy), TE T. Eifert (back), LB J. Evans (hamstring).

Cowboys: All-Pro linebacker Sean Lee is inactive because of a hamstring injury. It’s the first time the oft-injured Lee has been sidelined by an injury since the season finale in 2015, when he also was out with a hamstring issue.
