More items stolen from Center Grove vehicles

After items were stolen from vehicles in two Center Grove area neighborhoods within a week, the sheriff’s office is asking residents to be alert and report anything suspicious.

Sunglasses, a knife and other items were reported stolen overnight Wednesday from three vehicles along Inverness Place in the Hunter’s Pointe neighborhood, near Olive Branch and Berry roads, Johnson County Sheriff’s Office reports said.

The thefts follow a report of items stolen from another Center Grove area neighborhood about two miles away.

Last weekend, a handgun, three pairs of sunglasses valued at $300, a radar detector and change were stolen from three cars in the Wakefield neighborhood, near Smith Valley and Morgantown roads.

Residents should be alert and contact the sheriff’s office if they see any suspicious activity, Johnson County Sheriff Doug Cox said.
