Eleanor L. Ellis, 88, passed away September 22, 2017 at her daughter’s home in Greenwood surrounded by her children, following years of blessed time at Greenwood Village South.
She is survived by daughter Denise Ellis (Becky), Son Jeff Ellis (Jan), Daughter Cindy Battle (Bob), and grandsons Tyler, Logan, and Ross.
Eleanor graduated from The Methodist School of Nursing and later received her BSN with honors from Indiana Central. She worked at Visiting Nurses Association before working and retiring from Methodist Hospital. After retiring, she was active in the community and enjoyed tutoring and volunteering within Perry Township. Eleanor truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; spending time with family brought great joy to her, and she cherished her friends.
Eleanor had an unwavering faith in God. She was an active member of Christ United Methodist Church and Stephen Ministries.
Family visitation will be held at Christ United Methodist Church, 8540 US-31S, Indianapolis, Indiana 46227, at 4:00 pm on Saturday, October 7, 2017. Celebration of Life Service begins at 5:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Lung Association.
