Police: Man hid in shed after argument with relative

A Johnson County man was arrested after deputies said he attacked a relative and then hid in a nearby storage shed.

Jerry Jones, 33, was arrested on charges of aggravated battery, domestic battery, criminal trespass and invasion of privacy.

Deputies came to a home in the 800 block of South Old U.S. 31 around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday after hearing screaming. Multiple people at the home told deputies that Jones had struck another man multiple times in the head with a vacuum attachment after an argument, and then Jones left, according to the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office report.

The man inside had two large cuts on his head and was bleeding heavily. He was taken to Johnson Memorial Hospital, the report said.

Deputies searched the area and found Jones hiding in a shed off Old U.S. 31.

Jones, 835 S. Old U.S. 31, lot 41, was arrested and taken to the Johnson County jail. He was held on $47,000 bond.
