SAN JOSE, Calif. — A former county probation counselor in Northern California has been arrested on suspicion of having sex with two teenage boys who were incarcerated.

Santa Clara County prosecutors say 36-year-old Tricia Caparra appeared in court on Friday on 15 felony sexual assault charges. She did not enter a plea.

An email to her attorney, Christine McGuire, was not immediately returned.

Sheriff’s officials say Caparra was a probation counselor with Santa Clara County in 2016 when she had sex on multiple occasions with a 17-year-old and an 18-year-old who were held at a juvenile detention center.

County officials say one of the victims came forward last year, and Caparra resigned from her job in July.
