Stolen truck, items found in neighborhood

Sheriff’s deputies searched a Center Grove neighborhood with thermal imaging cameras after a resident reported two men trying to get into vehicles.

Deputies also found a stolen truck, but didn’t find the people who had been driving it, according to the Johnson County Sheriffs’s Office report.

Just after 3:30 a.m. Wednesday, deputies were called to the 4100 block of Cobblestone Way, in the Hunters Pointe neighborhood near Olive Branch and Morgantown roads. A resident reported seeing two men trying to get into vehicles.

Deputies found a truck oddly parked while searching for the two men. The truck was reported stolen and had a license plate that was reported stolen. And inside the vehicle, deputies found multiple items believed to have been stolen, including two cellphones, tools, glasses, cologne, cash and keys, the report said.

The sheriff’s office is investigating.
