Police are looking for the person who broke into a Center Grove area home and stole a car and credit cards.
A man reported at 12:34 p.m. Tuesday that he returned home to the 3900 block of Villas Drive, near Peterman and Fairview roads, and found that the door leading to his garage was forced open and his wife’s vehicle was missing, according to a report from the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office.
A purse in the residence and prescription medications had been rummaged through and credit cards were taken. Drawers in a bedroom were ransacked and a laptop was missing, the report said.
A relative of the man told investigators that the credit cards were used at two retail shops in Greenwood within an hour of the report being taken, according to the report.
Police are looking into whether the shops had surveillance video that could identify who used the cards.
