A Whiteland Community High School student was arrested overnight after posting a threat against the school on social media.
The student posted a picture of himself with a gun tucked in his waistband with comments about school, according to a news release from Clark-Pleasant schools.
Greenwood police arrested the student. They found the gun in the picture was an airsoft gun, the release said.
Students and parents contacted both the school and police when they saw the posting, the release said.
The high school is running as usual, but more police are on campus today, the release said.
“Social media can be a great communication tool, but it can also be very damaging to individuals and organizations. Please be aware what your children have access to and how they are connected to the world with these applications,” Clark-Pleasant Superintendent Patrick Spray said in the release.
