INDIANAPOLIS
Dorothy Schooley ,94, went to her heavenly home, on September 18, 2017, in Indianapolis, IN. She was born on December 6, 1922, in Freelandville, Indiana, to Martin and Elsie Bruning. In January, 1942, she married John W. Schooley, who passed away in 1996. The couple had three sons: Ronald, Gary and the late Timothy, who passed away in 2012.
She was a devoted wife, mother, sister and friend whose love, caring and kindness were felt by everyone she knew. During high school and after her sons were grown, she worked for L. S. Ayres as a sale associate.
Dorothy is survived by her sons Ronald (Barbara) and Gary (Joyce); her youngest sibling, Donald Bruning; six grandchildren: Kelly Boyer, Shelly Shepherd, Tina Butler, Timothy Schooley Jr., Cory Steenbergen and Christopher Schooley; plus ten great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 23, at 11 a.m. at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory, Greenwood Chapel, 481 W. Main St., Greenwood. Visitation will be from 9:00 am until the time of service. Burial will follow at Forrest Lawn Memory Gardens, State Road 135, Greenwood, IN.
