Dorothy I. (Covert) Coy, 100, passed away Tuesday afternoon, September 19, 2017 at Morning Pointe of Franklin. She was a resident of Trafalgar.
Dorothy was born January 28, 1917, in Taylorsville, to her parents, the late Harry and Anna (Malson) Covert.
Dorothy married Orville B. Coy on June 11, 1937 in Edinburgh. He preceded her in death on June 1, 2006 after 68 loving years of marriage.
She is survived by her children, Glen (Sharon) Coy of Trafalgar, Gary Coy of Indianapolis and Dale (Jacque) Coy of Trafalgar; grandchildren, Lou Ann Sabatier, Karla J. McConnell, C. Doug Coy, Analee Pitcher, Richard and Chris Harrison, Debbie Hamilton, Kimberly Hourigan, Scott and Rick Coy, Jeanne Minett, Greg Coy, Becky Katsaropoulos and Susie Wise; 40 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
Dorothy was preceded in death by a brother, William Covert.
She was a loving wife, mother and homemaker.
Dorothy was a 64-year member of the Fair Haven Christian Church in Trafalgar, which her and her husband helped establish with three other couples in June of 1953.
Dorothy enjoyed traveling with her husband and wintering in Mission, Texas.
She also enjoyed working in her flower and vegetable gardens, canning and reading Christian fiction books.
Dorothy was a fan of the Indianapolis Colts and the Indiana Pacers.
The Rev. Jeff Johnson will conduct a funeral service on Monday at 10 a.m. at the Fair Haven Christian Church, 1476 W. County Road 300 South in Franklin. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. on Sunday at the church. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
Funeral arrangements have entrusted to Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center in Morgantown.
