Boys tennis

Woodmen improve to 12-2

Greenwood defeated Franklin, 4-1, on Monday. The Woodmen record is now 12-2 and 6-0 in the Mid-State Conference.

The Woodmen swept singles competition with victories by Jacob Gray, Ethan Gray and Grant Bryant. Also winning for Greenwood was Nick Belovic and Charlie Brooks at No. 2 doubles.

For the Grizzly Cubs, Logan Snyder teamed with Josiah Rockey to win the No. 1 doubles match.

Triton Central downs Edinburgh

Triton Central handed Edinburgh a narrow 3-2 defeat. Wins for the Lancers were by Ryan Gaston at No. 3 singles and the No. 2 doubles team of Parker Bryant and Bryce Burton.

Rebels advance at county tourney

Roncalli defeated Lutheran, 3-0, in a rain-shortened first-round match at the Marion County Tournament. Bryson Meek won his match at No. 1 singles, while Austin Schofield prevailed at No. 3 singles. Also a winner for Roncalli was the No. 2 doubles team of Jacob Perez and Kaden Meek.

Volleyball

Roncalli tops Falcons

Roncalli used Betsy Crosley’s four blocks and four digs to post a 25-12, 25-12, 25-17 victory against Perry Meridian. Abby Johnson contributed four blocks, two digs and two kills for the Rebels.

Lancers lose match

Jennings County defeated Edinburgh, 25-19, 25-20, 26-24. The Lancers’ record is now 7-16.

Falcons down Rebels

Perry Meridian defeated Roncalli, 2-1, in a game called early due to bad weather. Vince Agramonte scored the Rebels’ goal on a penalty kick.
