Whiteland band sweeps competition, Greenwood earns first place

Local marching bands snagged the top spots at central Indiana competitions.

Whiteland Community High School’s Marching Warriors placed first in Class A at the Lawrence Central Marching Band Invitational. They swept all caption awards winning best percussion, best guard, best music, best visual and best general effect.

The Greenwood Marching Woodmen and Irish Guard performed at the Brownsburg High School Marching Band invitational. The band snagged first place in Class B and earned a caption award for best music.

The Marching Braves of Indian Creek High School placed sixth in Class C at Brownsburg and placed fourth in color guard and fifth in general.

The Franklin Community High School Blue Regiment competed at Lawrence Central, but, did not place.

Center Grove did not compete.
