Q&A: Center Grove choir encore event

Residents are invited to sip on wine and have dinner during an event to raise money for a high school choir. The Center Grove Choir Parent’s Organization is hosting a fundraising event in October. Lisa Goss, co-chairwoman of the event, tells you what you need to know:

When is the event?

Sunday, Oct. 1, from 5 to 9 p.m.

Where is the event?

The Sycamore at Mallow Run Winery

How do I get tickets?

Tickets are available at centergrovechoirs.org/encore-registration

What will the event include?

The Encore Event will entail dinner, a live auction, silent auction and music performances.

How did you get the idea for the event?

Jaime Lidy, a special education teacher at Center Grove High School, had attended a similar event in the Hamilton Southeastern School District. After attending that fundraiser, the idea was born. What an amazing way for our choir department to raise funds to help students in need. Lidy was one of our emcees at last year’s Encore Event.

How many people are expected?

200 guests are expected

Who can come?

We welcome all adults (21 and older) in our community to join us.

Where does the money go?

The Encore fundraiser provides scholarships to cover choir fees for students desiring to participate in the Center Grove Choral Program and are in need of financial assistance. Students apply for financial assistance and are awarded monies based on need and finances available.
