Greenwood resident Peter Nugent took the oath of office on Monday as the new judge of Johnson Superior Court 2.
Nugent was selected earlier this month by Indiana Gov. Eric Holcomb to succeed longtime Superior Court 2 Judge Cynthia Emkes, who decided to retire before her term ended.
Emkes swore in Nugent during a ceremony in the court on Monday afternoon.
