BENNINGTON, Vt. — People in Bennington are going to be on the streets of the Vermont town seeking to raise awareness about addiction to opioids.
The Turning Point Center is hosting Saturday’s “Walk for Recovery.”
Turning Point Center Executive Director Kenneth Sigsbury tells the Bennington Banner the goal is to let people know that there’s a place for them to come if they’re seeking recovery, or if they have family members who are suffering.
The Bennington event coincides with the National Recovery Month, which is meant to educate people suffering from substance abuse.
Sigsbury says that sometimes people with addictions have a problem with housing, food, clothing, or medical insurance. He says Turning Point can help people deal with those issues so they can focus on recovery.
