Man charged with child seduction

A 35-year-old man has been charged with two felonies after a police investigation showed he tried to entice a teenager to make a pornographic film with him.

Jeramey A. Butler, of Cloverdale, was arrested on charges of child seduction and dissemination of matter harmful to minors following an incident in December.

Greenwood police received a report that Butler had engaged in a sex act with an unwilling teenager, and the girl told police that he had offered her $2,500 to make a pornographic video for a website, and that she would get more money each time someone watched the video, according a probable cause affidavit.

He also showed the girl the website on his phone, and police found evidence that he had viewed the website during the timeframe the child reported the incident happened, the court documents said.

The next day, he engaged in a sex act with her, but she told police that she told him to stop, the documents said.

Butler denied the allegations in an interview with police. Police collected evidence for DNA analysis.

The charges were filed by the Johnson County Prosecutor’s Office earlier this month and Butler, of 11016 Lakeshore Drive, was arrested on Tuesday. He was released from the Johnson County jail on $800 bond.
