Volleyball

Trojans stay perfect in MIC

Class 4A No. 7 Center Grove stayed perfect in conference play with a 25-14, 25-10, 25-8 sweep of Warren Central on Tuesday.

Madison Hammill had eight aces and 29 assists for the Trojans (16-1, 4-0 MIC), while Ashley Eck had 18 digs.

Cougars keep rolling

Greenwood Christian rolled past Indiana School for the Deaf, 25-10, 25-13, 25-12. Sierra Gilson had 11 kills and six aces for the Cougars (13-1), while Grace Peters added 10 kills. Aubrey Odgers finished with 12 digs and Lexi Odgers had 35 assists.

Grizzly Cubs top Quakers

Franklin won at Plainfield, 25-20, 25-18, 22-25, 25-22, behind 35 assists and 12 kills from Brooke Phillips and 13 kills from Alyvia Sundheimer.

Isabell Mahin added 10 kills for the Grizzly Cubs (14-3, 4-0 Mid-State), while Brooklyn Peddycord collected 25 digs.

Braves fall to Artesians

Indian Creek dropped a tough match at Martinsville 25-23, 27-25, 25-15, 25-20. Taylor Burkett paced the Braves (11-4) offensively with 16 kills, while Tori Travers totaled 12 digs and four aces.

Warriors edged by Mooresville

Whiteland suffered a close 25-20, 25-19, 20-25, 25-23 loss to Mooresville on Tuesday. Toni Joyner had 18 assists and three aces for the Warriors (2-14, 0-4 Mid-State), and Lindsey Boltz finished with eight kills.

Rebels win in three

Roncalli swept Brebeuf on Tuesday, 27-25, 25-17, 26-24. Grace Hegwood led the Rebels with 17 kills, 15 digs and three aces.

Boys soccer

Trojans handle Pike

Luke Boha and Jack Neal each found the back of the net twice, leading Class 3A No. 12 Center Grove to a 4-1 victory against Pike on Tuesday. The Trojans improve to 9-3 overall, 4-2 in the MIC.

Grizzly Cubs rout Artesians

Franklin posted a 6-1 victory against Martinsville on Tuesday, setting up a Thursday night showdown at Plainfield that will determine the Mid-State Conference championship.

The Grizzly Cubs improved to 7-2-1 overall, 4-0 in the conference.

Roncalli doubled up

Goals from Michael Shirley and Vince Agramonte weren’t enough for Roncalli in a 4-2 loss against Scecina on Tuesday.

Rebels blanked by Brebeuf

Roncalli fell short against perennial state power Brebeuf 2-0 on Tuesday.

Boys tennis

Trojans swept by Brebeuf

Center Grove was handed a 5-0 defeat by Brebeuf on Tuesday. Trey Thixton, playing at No. 1 singles, was the lone Trojan to take his match to a third set.

Girls golf

Woodmen top Lancers

Taylor Watson led all players with a 46 and Maecee Terhune turned in a 47 to lead Greenwood to a 195-206 win against Edinburgh at Timbergate on Tuesday.

Vanessa McManaway topped the Lancers with a 47. Laila Stein added a 50 for the Woodmen.

Warriors defeat GCA

Whiteland posted a 208-220 victory against Greenwood Christian on Tuesday. Whiteland’s Kierra Mitchell and GCA’s Ashtyn Witte shared medalist honors on the day with rounds of 49.

Grizzly Cubs win comfortably

Led by scores of 42 from Avery Auton and Ellie Beavins, Franklin rolled to a 174-209 win against Shelbyville at The Legends.

Taylor Drake carded a 44 for the Grizzly Cubs, while Liv Parramore rounded out the scoring with a 47.

Braves edged by Cougars

Despite a medalist round of 39 from Lauren Parsley, Indian Creek was defeated by Bloomington North, 184 to 192.

Jacqui Button and Olivia Parsley shot 47 and 48, respectively, for the Braves.

Cross-country

Rebel girls top Woodmen

Roncalli’s girls won a three-way meet with Greenwood and Beech Grove at Freedom Park. The Rebels finished with a team score of 23, while the Woodmen totaled 36.
