BOISE, Idaho — An Idaho man who shot and killed a father of four during a road-rage incident has been sentenced to 15 years in prison.

KTVB-TV reports ( that 21-year-old Jacob Wall of Boise received the sentence Monday in 4th District Court and must serve three years before becoming eligible for parole.

Wall pleaded guilty in July to involuntary manslaughter and a firearms enhancement following the Nov. 6 shooting death of 38-year-old Luis Lara of Boise.

Ada County prosecutors asked for a 25-year sentence, noting Wall had the opportunity to walk away after Lara first retreated, but did not.

Defense attorney Michael Bartlett said Lara bore some responsibility because he had marijuana and alcohol in his system when he died.
