Lancers drop match in five sets

North Decatur managed to hold off Edinburgh for a 25-19, 25-15, 22-25, 16-25, 15-11 victory Monday at North Decatur.

GIRLS SOCCER

Center Grove beats Pike

Megan Perry and Katelyn Jansen scored goals and added an assist to lead the Trojans past Pike 6-1. Other Center Grove goals were by Piper Belden, MacKenzie Castallanos, Ellie Edel and Molly Williams.

Others credited with assists were Tetyana Clements, Brooke Smalley, Jess Helm and Gracyn Montfort.

North gets past Trojans

Bloomington North edged Center Grove 3-2, with the Trojans’ points coming on straight-set doubles victories by Eli Lawyer-Smith/Mitch Runkle and Mason Runkle/Grant Herron.

Owls defeat Lancers

Seymour scored a 4-1 decision against Edinburgh. The Lancers’ point came in No. 2 doubles courtesy Parker Bryant and Bryce Burton’s 6-4, 6-3 triumph.

Braves too much for Bulldogs

Lauren Parsley shot 45 and Jacqui Button a 48 to lead Indian Creek past Batesville 194-222. The Braves’ next-lowest scores were carded by Caitlyn Snyder with a 50 and Olivia Parsley’s 51.

GCA wins by three strokes

Freshman Ashtyn Witte picked up medalist honors with a 44 as Greenwood Christian Academy downed Triton Central 197-200.

Young leads Trojans past Avon

Junior Lucy Young shot 34 to earn medalist honors in Center Grove’s defeat of Avon, 160-188. Next for the Trojans was Halle Booher with a 41, Maddie Heineman’s 42 and a 43 from freshman Meg Fosnot.

Egold, Clifford lead Rebels

Roncalli defeated Park Tudor, 188-207, behind 46s from seniors Sophia Egold and Nicole Clifford. Also for the Rebels, Kathleen Ameis shot 47 and Annie Sullivan a 49.

BOYS GOLF

Greenwood 8th-grader shoots 32

Jackson Watkins, an eighth-grader on the Greenwood Middle School golf team, set a school record by shooting a 4-under-par 32 at Smock Golf Course on Friday.

Watkins, who had set a round of 32 as a goal for himself entering the season, birdied the second, third, fifth and ninth holes to help lead the Woodmen to a victory against Perry Meridian.
