Purse auction set to support homeless

Purse lovers can grab a designer bag while helping homeless people in the community.

A purse auction will be 2 to 4 p.m. Sept. 16 at the Greenwood United Methodist Church, 525 N. Madison Ave.

Proceeds from the event will benefit Coburn Place in Indianapolis and KIC-IT. Both organizations offer support for homeless people.

New and gently-used handbags of all types will be for sale. Some are designer bags, including bags from Coach, Dooney & Burke, Anne Klein and Vera Bradley.

The event costs $5. Each purse also will contain a small gift worth at least $5.
