David C. Shaw

MOORESVILLE

David C. Shaw, age 68, passed away Friday afternoon, September 8, 2017 at Franciscan Health in Indianapolis. He was a resident of Mooresville.

David was born on May 5, 1949, in Campbellsville, Kentucky to his parents, the late Carson and Josephine (Jasper) Shaw. He served as a Sergeant with the 197th Infantry Brigade of the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was awarded a Vietnam Service Medal with two Bronze Stars.

David retired in 2008 from General Motors in Spring Hill, Tennessee after 30 years of service. He was a member of the UAW Local 1853 in Spring Hill. David was also a member of the Nineveh Masonic Lodge #317.

He enjoyed the outdoors by fishing, hunting and working in his garden. David was a fan of the Indianapolis Colts and enjoyed spending time with his dog, “Miss Tiger”.

David is survived by his wife of 50 years, Kenna D. (Tungate) Shaw, whom he married on June 17, 1967 in Johnson County. He is also survived by his children, Kylee (Nick) Mathes of Greenwood, David Shaw of Mooresville, Francie Tuzcu of Cocoa Beach, FL and Mary (Chad) Skinner of Jensen Beach, FL; sister, Lorna Shaw of Whiteland; grandchildren, Carlie Asher, Alyssa Cole, Brady Mathes, Destiny Skinner, Jacie Hubbard and Philip Hubbard III; great granddaughter, Ellie J. Asher.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Mike James Shaw.

The Family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, September 12th at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown. A graveside service will follow at East Hill Cemetery in Morgantown with military rites presented by the Martinsville American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars Honor Guards.
