Cougars capture league title

Greenwood Christian Academy won the PAAC Tournament on Thursday with a nine-hole team score of 209. The Cougars’ Ashtyn Witte secured medalist honors with a 46. Also making the all-conference team were Greenwood Christian golfers Jessica Kjerstad and Allison Christie.

Woodmen win 3-way meet

Greenwood shot a team score of 197 at Southern Dunes to win a meet against Southport (198) and Decatur Central (202). Bridget Lindstrom fired a 44 for the Woodmen to be medalist, while teammates Maecee Terhune carded a 48 and Laila Stein a 49.

Braves edged by Triton Central

Indian Creek lost to Triton Central on Wednesday, 176-182, despite Lauren Parsley securing co-medalist honors with a 40. Also for the Braves, Jacqui Button shot a 42 and Olivia Parsley a 45.


GCA knocks off Waldron

Aubrey Odgers delivered 14 digs and four aces for Greenwood Christian Academy in its 25-17, 25-10, 25-16 victory against Waldron. Also for the Cougars, Grace Peters finished with 11 kills, while Sarah Mangan had nine kills and two blocks.

Quakers too much for Warriors

Visiting Plainfield picked up a victory against Whiteland in a Mid-State Conference match 25-11. 25-20, 25-18. Tabby Holzhausen led the Warriors in serving, going 11 for 11 with two aces.

Roncalli defeats Artesians

Betsy Crosley finished with 11 kills, four blocks and five digs in Roncalli’s win against Martinsville, 22-25, 25-5, 25-8, 25-15. Also for the Rebels, Elizabeth Eads had 11 kills.

Braves defeat Lancers

Indian Creek defeated Edinburgh 25-10, 25-15, 25-17.


Trojans shut out Giants

Colin Parry recorded a goal and an assist to lead Center Grove past Ben Davis, 3-0. Other Trojans goals were by Jack Neal and Alec Prime. Nick Schirer had an assist.

Rebels lose to Heritage Christian

Roncalli lost to Heritage Christian 2-0.


Trojans rout Ben Davis

Paige Waskom scored two goals and seven of her Center Grove teammates one apiece as the Trojans blanked visiting Ben Davis 9-0 on Wednesday.

Other goals were by Piper Belden, Megan Perry, Gracyn Montfort, Mackenzie Castellanos, Emma Jones, Katelyn Jansen and Macy Detty. Belden, Jones and Jansen were credited with one assist each.

Preserving the shutout for Center Grove were goalkeepers Ella Thompson and Kelti Wise.


Whiteland picks up win

Whiteland defeated host Edinburgh 5-0 to improve its record to 7-4. Singles victories were by the Warriors’ Quentin Gillespie, Caleb Scott and Corey Ullrich.

Posting doubles wins for Whiteland were Lane Stephenson and Travis Robinson and Noah Thompson and Ravi Mann.

Irish shut out Rebels

Cathedral defeated visiting Roncalli 5-0. The Rebels’ season record is now 4-7.
