AMITY

William Dragoo, 94, a lifelong resident of the Amity community of Johnson County, passed away on Wednesday, September 6, 2017.

He was born February 26, 1923 at the family farm in Franklin to Roy and Bertha (Richardson) Dragoo.

He married Alice L. “Susie” Dragoo on March 24, 1945 in Whiteland; she preceded him in death on June 17, 2015. He was a lifelong farmer of the Amity community, alongside his wife and son.

He enjoyed eating and drinking at the Roto Grill in Amity and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his son, Michael Dragoo (Carolyn S.) of Franklin, daughter Jo Ellen Edwards (Larry) of Franklin; five grandchildren, Sheri Spall of Franklin, Brandi Dragoo-Zwissler (Tom) of Greenwood, Courtney Dragoo of Franklin, Jenny Margason (Bill) of Greenwood and Stacey Edwards of Franklin; and three great-grandchildren, Robbie, Tyler and Samantha Margason.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and infant brother, Harry Dragoo, brothers Oscar Dale Dragoo and Lloyd Nelson Dragoo, and two sisters, Ruby Dragoo and Opal Dragoo.

The Rev. Doug Brown will conduct a service Saturday, September 9, 2017 at 1 p.m. at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 S. U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, where friends may call from 11 a.m. Saturday until the service time at the mortuary. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin.
