Trojans breeze past Falcons

Ellen LeMasters put down 16 kills as Class 4A No. 6 Center Grove swept Perry Meridian on Wednesday, 25-8, 25-21, 25-12. Devynn Merriman served up five aces for the Trojans (11-1).

Lancers fall just short

Edinburgh was handed a 3-2 defeat by Morristown on Wednesday. Coltan Henderson and Ryan Gaston earned points for the Lancers at No. 1 and No. 3 singles, respectively.

Rebels fall to Cardinals

Despite wins at No. 1 and No. 3 singles by Bryson Meek and Austin Schofield, Roncalli came up short at home against Southport 3-2. The Rebels fell to 4-6 overall.

Volleyball wins home-opener

Playing at home for the first time this season, Franklin College rolled to a 25-13, 25-18, 25-13 win against Wilmington College on Wednesday.

Avery Sparks led the Grizzlies (3-1) with nine kills, while freshman Abby Sewell of Franklin added six kills, three blocks and three aces.
