Trojans sweep Falcons

Emma Jones had 13 kills and six blocks as Class 4A No. 4 Center Grove swept its way past Perry Meridian on Tuesday, 25-21, 25-16, 25-20. Ashley Eck added a strong defensive effort for the Trojans (10-1).

Cougars overpower Herron

Greenwood Christian swept Indianapolis Herron 25-13, 25-13, 25-15. The Cougars (11-1) got eight kills and 19 digs from Grace Peters, 10 kills from Sierra Gilson, 28 assists from Lexi Odgers, 11 digs from Aubrey Odgers and five service aces from Izzy Reed.

Rebels handle Ritter

Roncalli swept Cardinal Ritter 25-21, 25-12, 25-22, behind nine kills and five digs from Elizabeth Eads.

Boys soccer

Trojans topple Warriors

Ben DeRose scored three times to lead Class 3A No. 13 Center Grove to a 4-1 victory against Warren Central on Tuesday.

Luke Boha tallied the other goal for the Trojans (8-3-1, 2-2 MIC). Jack Neal added a pair of assists.

Grizzly Cubs battle to tie

Franklin finished Tuesday’s match in a 3-3 tie with Greenfield-Central. The Grizzly Cubs move to 5-2-2 on the year.

Girls golf

Bull Dogs top CG, Franklin

Center Grove and Franklin both were defeated by third-ranked Columbus North on Tuesday at Hickory Stick. The Trojans finished with a 165, nine shots back of the Bull Dogs, while the Grizzly Cubs totaled a 183.

Halle Booher paced Center Grove with a 38, with Lucy Young (40), Maddie Heineman (43) and Meg Fosnot (44) rounding out the scoring for the Trojans. Ellie Beavins shot a 41 to lead Franklin, followed by Avery Auton (46), Taylor Drake (47) and Liv Parramore (49).

Warriors roll to victory

A medalist round of 40 from Bri Harwell helped power Whiteland past Bloomington North, 185 to 207. Lucy Gearhart added a season-best 45 for the Warriors, while Allie Watson finished with a 48.

Braves edge Lancers

Olivia Parsley earned medalist honors with a 46, helping Indian Creek pull out a three-way match against Edinburgh and Southwestern (Shelby).

The Braves totaled 205 to finish two strokes up on the Lancers, who got a 47 from Vanessa McManaway.

Cougars earn victory

Greenwood Christian defeated Mooresville’s “B” team at Heartland Crossing, 219 to 263. Ashtyn Witte and Sophia Valant each shot a 52 to lead the Cougars.

Rebels third in county tourney

Roncalli shot a 374 to place third in the Marion County championship at The Fort Golf Course. The Rebels were led by freshman Morgan Clifford, who carded a personal-best 93.

Franklin College

Women’s tennis team wins

Franklin College had no problem defeating Indiana-Kokomo on Tuesday, coasting to a 9-0 win.

Karen Dringenburg and Rachel Rose picked up a win at first doubles, and the two also earned points at No. 1 and No. 3 singles, respectively. Holyn Eldridge and Alexa Schofner were victorious at second doubles together and also won at No. 2 and No. 4 singles. Megan Battles and Lilly Bushong won separately in the final two singles spots and together at No. 3 doubles for the Grizzlies.
