LOS ANGELES — Authorities in California say a New York woman has pleaded not guilty to allegations she stole more than $1 million from her employer.

The California attorney general’s office says Thursday that Adriana Pinnisi faces grand theft and other charges in Los Angeles.

Prosecutors say the 43-year-old had worked as the controller for Signal Products and had been responsible for overseeing the company’s business expenses.

They allege Pinnisi used a corporate credit card to make more than $1 million in unauthorized personal purchases from December 2015 until November 2016.

The attorney general’s office says Pinnisi was looking for a job as a controller when she was arrested in New York.

Records show Pinnisi remained jailed Thursday and couldn’t be reached for comment. The name of her attorney wasn’t immediately known.
