Trojans blank Warren Central

Piper Belden scored twice and Athena Passafiume added a goal as Center Grove cruised to a 3-0 road win against Warren Central on Monday.

Ella Thompson and Kelti Wise split time in goal for the Trojans (4-3, 2-0 MIC), completing the shutout.

Grizzly Cubs edge Martinsville

Franklin swept the doubles matches and got a narrow 7-5, 6-4 win at No. 3 singles from Josiah Rockey en route to a 3-2 victory against Martinsville on Monday.

Andy Bennett and Corbin Burton were a three-set winner at No. 1 doubles, 4-6, 6-2, 6-2. Ethan Klem and Russell Chain won in straight sets at No. 2 for the Grizzly Cubs (6-1, 2-0 Mid-State).

Braves top Owen Valley

Indian Creek won three-set battles at No. 1 singles and No. 2 doubles to pull out a 4-1 victory against Owen Valley on Monday.

Scott Russell needed a third-set tiebreak in his singles match, 4-6, 6-4, 7-6 (4), while the doubles tandem of Hunter Ankney and Dustin Hamblen also was stretched to the limit before winning, 4-6, 7-6 (4), 6-4.

Markus Lang and Jake Mitchell had an easier time at No. 2 and No. 3 singles, respectively, winning in straight sets for the Braves (4-1, 2-0 WIC).

Rebels swept by Brebeuf

Roncalli suffered a 5-0 loss to Brebeuf on Monday, dropping its record to 2-3 on the season.

Trojans second in MIC tourney

Lucy Young shot a 77 to earn a spot on the all-conference team and lead Center Grove to a second-place finish in the Metropolitan Interscholastic Conference tournament at Prairie View on Monday.

Lauren Pagel and Halle Booher each carded a 90 for the Trojans, who finished with a team total of 349. Meg Fosnot added a 92 to round out the scoring.

Grizzly Cubs win three-way

A medalist round of 38 from Ellie Beavins helped Franklin top both Whiteland and Decatur Central in a three-way match at The Legends on Monday.

The Grizzly Cubs finished with a total of 173, while the Warriors were second at 185.

Liv Parramore (43), Taylor Drake (45) and Avery Auton (47) rounded out the Franklin scoring.
