Myrtle Frances VanDerMoere

GREENWOOD

Myrtle Frances VanDerMoere, 90, of Greenwood, passed away August 26, 2017. The daughter of Hubert and Sarah P. Carver Cline, Myrtle was born March 19, 1927 in Holland, Kentucky.

Myrtle attended the John Herron School of Art; worked as a graphic artist for L. S. Ayres and Company and retired from the U. S. Post Office as a clerk. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, was a member of Villa Baptist Church, where she sung in the choir. More recently, she attended Emmanuel Church in Greenwood. Myrtle enjoyed sewing and doing alterations, crocheting; made wedding cakes and ceramic dolls.

Survivors include her husband, Wilbur J. VanDerMoere of Greenwood, whom she married on May 6, 1950 in Indianapolis; her daughters, Gail A. (Gordon) Briggs, Leslie J. (Mark) Nacke and Beth K. (James) Dugan, all of Greenwood; her brothers, Ralph (Lois) Cline, Bobby (Martha) Cline and Mickey (Jeanne) Cline, all of Bowling Green, Kentucky; and her sister, Shirley (William) Felts of Indianapolis; eight grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; two step-great-grandsons and three step-great-granddaughters. In addition to her parents, Myrtle was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Sue Carol VanDerMoere; brother, Bruce Cline and sister, Patty Cline Scott.

Funeral service will be conducted 1:00 p.m. on August 29, 2017 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home , 1977 South State Road 135, Greenwood, where visitation will start at 11:00 a.m. Entombment will follow services at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
