FRANKLIN, TENNESSEE
William Merle Waymire, MD, 85, passed away on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 in Franklin, Tennessee. He was a resident of Tennessee and former resident and physician in Franklin, Indiana.
He was born on December 14th, 1931 in Elwood, Indiana to Jacob Leon and Mary Beatrice (Karch) Waymire. He married Joan D. Hoagland on November 20th, 1965. She survives. He is also survived by daughter, Tina Waymire Collier (David) of Franklin, TN; son, Brent T. Waymire (Mary Ann Elrod) of Franklin,IN.; grandsons, Brian Waymire (Sarah) of Greenwood; Brent Collier of Franklin, TN; William Cole Collier of Franklin, TN; granddaughter, Nichole Waymire Healy (Tim) of Clarksville, GA and great-grandchildren, Lyla, Piper, Finn and Conor. He was preceded in passing by his parents, son, Brian Keith Waymire and brother, Jacob Leon Waymire, Jr.
Dr. Waymire was a 1950 graduate of Wendell Wilkie High School and a 1956 graduate of I.U. Medical School. He was a retired Colonel of the Army National Guard.
He was a physician, and was the Radiologist at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin for many years, retiring in 1990.
Friends may call on Tuesday, August 29th from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 North Morton Street, (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin. A private family graveside service will be at Greenlawn Cemetery where military honors will be conducted by the Indiana Army National Guard.
