An autopsy has shown the deaths of a husband and wife found Saturday outside a Prince’s Lakes home was a murder-suicide.
A relative called police after going to a home in the 600 block of West Lakeview Drive in Prince’s Lakes to check on his stepson, after he had been unable to reach him for several hours, according to the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office report.
A deputy checked behind the home and found a man and woman dead on the back patio. They have been identified as Jason and Melissa Wojcik, according to the report.
An autopsy on Sunday ruled the deaths a murder-suicide, with Melissa Wojcik the victim of a homicide and Jason Wojcik dying of suicide, Johnson County Coroner Craig Lutz said.
The relative who had called police had driven from out of state to check on Jason Wojcik, and said the couple had been having marital problems and were separating, the report said.
