Boys soccer

Cougars win at Shortridge

Greenwood Christian Academy upped its record to 4-0-1 with a 3-1 win at Indianapolis Shortridge. Sophomore goalkeeper Gabe Vessely picked up seven saves in the win. Greenwood Christian goals were by Jonathan Amador, Griffin Huizinga and Ryan Shover.

Franklin upends Pioneers

Owen Atkison tallied three goals for Franklin as it defeated Mooresville 8-1.

Boys tennis

Braves down Lancers

Indian Creek scored a 4-1 win against Edinburgh.

The Braves’ points came on singles triumphs by Marcus Lange and Jake Mitchell and the doubles combinations of Kyle Lime-Cody Hart and Dustin Hamblen-Hunter Ankney.

Picking up a point for the Lancers was No. 1 singles player Coltan Henderson.

Woodmen blank Roncalli

Greenwood spoiled Roncalli’s home opener with a 5-0 victory.

Volleyball

Cougars win again

Greenwood Christian Academy dominated play in defeating Cristo Rey, 25-2, 25-11, 25-6. Senior Sierra Gilson had nine kills for the Cougars, who also got 11 service aces from Rylie Scott and 11 assists courtesy of Abby Phelps.

Warriors lose at New Palestine

New Palestine defeated Whiteland 25-13, 25-13, 25-9. For the Warriors, Tabby Holzhausen had 10 assists with Lindsey Boltz chipping in five kills.

Rebels defeat Bull Dogs

Roncalli swept Columbus North 25-20, 25-18, 25-17 behind Betsy Crosley’s four kills and four blocks. Abby Johnson had two kills, five blocks and a dig for the Rebels.
