Betty J. Thornburgh

KEYSTONE

Betty J. Thornburgh, 55, went to be with Jesus on Tuesday, August 22, 2017, at Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home in Fort Wayne.

Betty was born on July 17, 1962, in Franklin, to the late Luster Slevin and Mary (Forney) Slevin, who survives.

She graduated from Indian Creek High School in Trafalgar in 1981.

She married Mark Thornburgh and they enjoyed 28 wonderful years of marriage.

Betty worked for many years as a CNA and then worked for Reed’s Do It Best in Bluffton for the last 11 years.

She was a member of the Full Gospel Church in Dunkirk.

She loved horses and collected horse figurines.

She loved the color blue as much as she hated the color green.

Betty is survived by her husband Mark; mother, Mary; eight siblings, Mike Slevin of Brown County, Tom Slevin of Franklin, Ann Slevin of Hartford City, Judy (Larry) Summer of Bargersville, Karen Slevin of Franklin, Bobby (Colleen) Slevin of Brown County, John Slevin and Paul Slevin, both Franklin; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Luster.

Arrangements for Betty have been entrusted to Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services College Park Chapel, 4601 S. Western Ave., Marion, Indiana, where a visitation will be held on Friday, August 25, 2017, from 3 to 7 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. with Doug Thornburgh officiating. Burial will take place at Weeping Willow Cemetery in Bean Blossom, on Saturday, August 26, 2017, at 2 p.m.

Contributions made in memory of Betty can be made to the funeral home to help the family with expenses.
