HARTFORD, Conn. — A Connecticut man is among the sailors identified by the U.S. Navy as still missing after the USS John S. McCain collided with an oil tanker Monday near Singapore.

Electronics Technician 3rd Class Dustin Louis Doyon, 26, of Suffield, and nine other sailors went missing after the accident.

The search was called off Thursday.

Doyon’s family says it’s a difficult time and they’re still hopeful he’ll be found and come home.

Doyon graduated from Cathedral High School in Springfield, Massachusetts, in 2009. The school was destroyed in a tornado in 2011.

Its students were later sent to Pope Francis High School. The school says its community is praying for Doyon and his family.

Doyon enlisted in 2015. After training, he reported to his first ship, the McCain, in June 2016.
