Local high schools to host marching band invitationals during fall season

Thousands of marching band students from all across the state will make their way to Johnson County this fall.

Four local high schools are hosting marching band invitationals or Indiana State School Music Association sanctioned events.

Invitationals draw dozens of marching bands, their staff and spectators to each event.

Here is a look at what each school is hosting:

Center Grove High School

Cavalcade of Champions

Where: Center Grove High School, 2717 S. Morgantown Road, Greenwood.

When: TBD Oct. 7

Tickets: $7 for adults; $5 for students and seniors.

Franklin Community High School

ISSMA Class D Semi-State

Where: Franklin Community High School, 2600 Cumberland Drive.

When: 1 p.m. Oct. 28

Tickets: $7 for adults; $5 for students and seniors.

Greenwood Community High School

Marching band invitational

Where: Greenwood Community High School, 615 W. Smith Valley Road.

When: 3 p.m. Sept. 23

Tickets: $7 for adults; $5 for students.

Whiteland Community High School

ISSMA Scholastic Preliminaries/Open Invitational

Where: Whiteland Community High School, 300 E. Main St.

When: 11 a.m. Oct. 7

Tickets: $7 for adults; $5 for students and seniors.

Whiteland Invitational

Where: Whiteland Community High School

When: 4 p.m. Oct. 21

Tickets: $7 for adults; $5 for students and seniors.
