FLAT ROCK
Ruby Garrett, 86 of Flat Rock, Indiana, passed was on August 18, 2017 at Franklin Meadows where she had been a resident since 2012.
She was born May 22, 1931 in Pulaski County, Kentucky. She was the daughter of Delbert and Lora Mounce.
She married Oliver Garrett on May 9, 1960, and he preceded her in death on January 26, 1983.
She is survived by her children, Joe (Treva) Whitis, Dale (Teresa) Whitis, Vickie (Scott) Gahimer and Trudy (Ernie) Jones; five grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren; a sister, Margie Murphy, and a brother, Vernon Mounce.
She was preceded in death by two sisters and five brothers.
Ruby retired from Beatrice Foods of Columbus.
She attended Who-So-Ever-Will Community Church in Edinburgh.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 22, 2017 by the Rev. Randy Denton at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home in Edinburgh. Calling will be Monday, August 21 from 4 to 8 p.m. Burial will be at Miller Cemetery in Shelby County.
