Franklin earns win

A pair of goals from Emilie Hill paced Franklin to a 5-0 win against Shelbyville on Thursday.

Jacqualynn Long, Maddie Alexander and Emily Kleinhelter also found the net for the Grizzly Cubs (1-1), and Alex Bedard made five saves to preserve the shutout.

Rebels top Southport

Roncalli topped rival Southport on Thursday 3-2 behind goals from Mateo Gonzalez and Michael Shirley. The Rebels got their other tally on an own goal by the Cardinals.

Woodmen get 1st win

Greenwood picked up their first win of the season Thursday, finishing off a 25-19, 25-15, 25-19 sweep of Beech Grove. The Woodmen are 1-2.

Rebels take road win

Roncalli toppled Carmel in a road match Thursday 25-18, 25-16, 19-25, 25-17.

Betsy Crosley and Elizabeth Eads each had eight kills for the Rebels, with Eads adding 10 blocks.

Warriors still perfect

Whiteland claimed its third win in as many matches this week, sweeping its way to a 5-0 win against Triton Central on Thursday.

Quentin Gillespie, Caleb Scott and Garrison Pelfree claimed the three singles points. Eric Robinson and Corey Ullrich were victorious at No. 1 doubles, while Lane Stephenson and Madison Laugle rolled at No. 2.

Rebels drop match

Despite a win at No. 2 doubles from Tyler Pollard and Garrett Meek, Roncalli suffered a 4-1 setback at Heritage Christian on Thursday.

Girls golf

Harwell leads Warriors

Led by a 39 from Bri Harwell, Whiteland picked up a victory against Shelbyville at The Legends on Thursday, 192 to 204. Lucy Gearhart added a 48 for the Warriors.

Grizzly Cubs split

Franklin finished second in a three-way match with Martinsville and Bloomington North on Thursday at Cascades Golf Course.

The Grizzly Cubs finished at 179, 18 strokes back of the Artesians. Liv Parramore paced a balanced lineup with a 43, followed by Avery Auton (44), Ellie Beavins (45) and Carly Woodward (47).
