FRANKLIN
Raymond Warren Jones, 88, of Franklin, IN passed away Wednesday August 16, 2017 at Franciscan Hospice House in Indianapolis, IN. He was born August 16, 1929 in Franklin, IN to H. Warren and Elsie (Hughbanks) Jones.
He married Jean Ann (Callon) Jones on September 30, 1956 at the Edinburgh United Methodist Church, she survives.
He was a 1947 graduate of Clark Township High School and attended Franklin College. He retired from Eli Lilly and Company after 40 years of service as an insulin purification supervisor. He was a member of Community Congregational Church and the Builders Sunday School Class. He was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War. He also was a member of Franklin American Legion Post 205. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and watching all types of sports on television. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Survivors include his wife Jean Ann (Callon) Jones of Franklin, IN; daughter Susan A. Pennington of Indianapolis, IN; son Bruce M. Jones (Michelle) of Whiteland, IN; grandchildren Melissa Ray of Indianapolis, IN, Heather Pennington of Indianapolis, IN and Molly Waltz (Jeff) of Indianapolis, IN; great-grandchildren Mikayla, Anthony, Kylie, Nathanial, and Connor.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son-in-law Michael E. Pennington on December 15, 2016; and two brothers Loy D. Jones and Dale W. Jones.
The Reverend Dan McLaughlin will conduct a service Monday, August 21, 2017 at 10:30 a,m. at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN. Friends may call Sunday, August 20, 2017 from 1 to 5 p.m. at the mortuary. Burial will be in Hurricane Cemetery in Franklin, IN. Memorial contributions may be made to the Community Congregational Church, 4592 Hurricane Road, Franklin, IN, 46131.
