Arthur Gerald Hauk

Arthur Gerald (Jerry) Hauk, age 77, of Greenwood, passed away August 12, 2017 at Community Hospital South in Indianapolis.

Jerry was born July 3, 1940 in Hendricks County, Indiana to Harold W. Hauk and Mary Lou (Daily) Hauk Abrams.

He was a 1959 graduate of Spencer High School.

Jerry retired from GM as a crane operator.

After retirement, he worked for McCarty Farms many years, and with this job he also enjoyed working the state fair. He was an involved member of the Smith Valley Methodist Church.

Jerry was a 16-year friend of Bill W. and very dedicated to helping others learn the program.

He was married to Pamela K. Flora December 27, 1989 in Las Vegas.

Jerry is survived by his daughter, Pam (Tony) Sheese of Spencer, his son, Tim Hauk of Ocala Florida; stepdaughter, Brandy (Matt) Schemenauer; sister, Jane (Hauk) Garza of Mission, Texas, brother, Larry Hauk of Bloomington; sisters-in-law, Molly Dorrell and Lyn (Phil) Plummer, both of Greenwood; grandchildren, Nicholas Sheese of Noblesville, Jessica (Jeremy) Busby of Spencer, Jerry M. Hauk of Georgetown, Kentucky, Samantha Hauk of Cynthiana, Kentucky, Morgan (Geoff) Wright of Greenwood, Colton and Zion Schemenauer of Lawrence, Dakota Crafton of Cross Plains, Bradley J. Balistreri of Indianapolis; and great-grandchildren, Bret, Connor and Waylon Busby of Spencer, Arora Wagoner of Cynthiana, Kentucky, Kayden James Wright of Greenwood and Madison (Maddie) Wright of New Albany; mother of Pam and Tim, Shirley (McCreery) Christensen; aunt, Virginia (Daily) Childress of Greencastle; many cousins, nephews and nieces; and many friends that have blessed his life.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 25 years, Pamela K. (Flora) Hauk; son, Jeffrey W. Hauk; stepson, Bradley J. Flora; a brother, Phillip R. Hauk; and a sister-in-law, Gloria Fankboner.

The Revs. Jennifer Lewis and Joe Bottorff will conduct a service at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 17, at Smith Valley United Methodist Church, 5239 Old Smith Valley Road, Greenwood. Burial will be at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Glenns Valley, Greenwood.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to Smith Valley United Methodist Church.
