PITTSBURGH — Authorities are asking for help from the public in their investigation of the death of a woman found on a porch in Pittsburgh.

Officers were called to a Larimer apartment just after 5:30 p.m. Friday and found the woman lying on a rear porch. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The medical examiner’s office identified her as 42-year-old Melissa Manhart. The cause and manner of her death is under investigation.

Public safety department spokeswoman Sonya Toler told WPXI that the death is considered suspicious.

The police department’s violent crime unit is investigating, and anyone with information is asked to call.
