Maud Cheek

HOMOSASSA, FLORIDA

Maud Buster Cheek, 94, passed away on Tuesday, August 8th, 2017 at her residence in Homasassa, Florida, in the care of her daughter and hospice.

She was born on January 30, 1923 in Otisco, Indiana to Dillard and Dora (Sanders) Buster. She married William Floyd Cheek on January 5th, 1943. Maud is survived by her daughter, Donna Neighbors; son-in-law, Michael L. Neighbors; three grandsons, William P. Lanier, David S. Lanier and Timothy E. Lanier, all of Homosassa, Florida; two great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in passing by her parents; husband, William F. Cheek; four sisters, Ethel Collins, Minnie Francis, Lena Haynes and Sharon Lee; one brother, John Buster; one granddaughter, Michele Neighbors Head and one great-grandson, Levi Lanier.

She attended Payne school in Franklin.

Maud was employed by Arvin’s Industries during World War II. She later was employed by Empire Manufacturing for twenty-three years and worked at Franklin Healthcare Center for four years.

A celebration of Maud’s life will be held on Tuesday, August 15th at 2:00 p.m. at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 North Morton Street, (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin. Friends may call on Tuesday, from 11:00 a.m. to time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin.
