Police are investigating and looking for the public’s help after someone stole jewelry and cash from a home near Bargersville.
Johnson County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to a home in the 2200 block of N. County Road 500W, just west of Bargersville, around 1:30 p.m. Thursday. A resident told police he left his house around 8:45 a.m. and when he returned, he noticed a door was open. Investigators later determined the door was pried open, according to the sheriff’s office report.
The owner said drawers from a jewelry cabinet were missing, along with two class rings and other jewelry. He said a loose change jar which contained more than $400 was also missing, the report said.
Police took photographs of the pried open door and fingerprints from the jewelry cabinet.
