Anna Louise Sappenfield

Anna Louise Van Meter Sappenfield 94, and her Husband Arno Sappenfield were reunited Thursday August 10th, 2017 when she passed away at the Franklin United Methodist Community which she had lived since March of 2009.

Anna Van Meter was born in Bloomfield, Indiana, August 24, 1922 as a small premature 2 pound baby to Roy and Myrtle (Baker) Van Meter. She Graduated from Bloomfield High School in 1940 and Central Business College in Indianapolis

She married Paul Arno Sappenfield April 9, 1941 in Linton, Indiana. Her husband Arno proceed her in death May 10, 2009

Anna leaves her two children Pam Rynerson of Kawkawlin, MI., and Paul (Donna) Sappenfield Jr. of Franklin, IN., and her grandchildren Lisa (Craig) Montcalm of Kawkawlin, MI., Todd Andrew (Rachel) Sappenfield of Martinsville, IN., Melissa Ann (Richard) Duke of Trafalgar, IN., Jacob William (Elizabeth) Sappenfield of Franklin, IN., Great Grandchildren, Kayla Montcalm, Brady, Alex, Emma and Olivia Sappenfield, Ashley Duke, and Michelle Duke, and Great Great-Granddaughter Chelsie Duke and Special niece Judith Van Meter Parris and nephew William Van Meter.

She was proceeded in death by her Parents, Husband Arno Sappenfield, loving Son-in-law Kenneth Rynerson, and Great Grandson Luke William Sappenfield brothers Edmund, Robert, Russell and William Van Meter.

Anna was a former member of Whiteland United Methodist Church since 1953 and current regular attendee of Franklin United Methodist Community Chapel.

Anna worked for L.S. Ayres for 24 years and volunteered for the Inter Church Food Pantry. Her interest included attending her Grandchildren and Great Grand-children’s events, reading, sewing, golf and playing Euchre with her Whiteland friends and Playing 3 times a week at the Franklin United Methodist Community plus Bingo on Tuesday.

Our family would like to thank the Staff at the Franklin United Methodist Community for the love and friendship that was extended over the last 8 1/2 years to Anna as resident and especially to Tammy, Brad, Therese, Kristina, Grace (her beautiful voice) Kylee, David, Jennie, Angie, Linda and the staffs of Rehab and Long Term care on the 2nd floor. Chaplin David Lee was a special friend to all at the FUMC.

The Reverends Joe Wyatt and David Lee will conduct a service Monday at 2:30PM at the Wright Chapel of the Franklin United Methodist Community 1070 West Jefferson Street in Franklin where friends may call from 11AM till service time at the chapel. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin.

Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin is handling the arrangements.
