HARVEY, La. — Authorities in Louisiana are investigating a fight and subsequent shooting that injured a man.

Nola.com/The Times-Picayune reports the victim told Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies that he was sifting through his trash can when two men dressed in black and wearing masks approached him Monday night.

The men fought and the victim tried to run away, but police spokesman Glen T. Boyd says someone opened fire and hit him in the leg.

The victim is expected to recover, although his condition wasn’t available Tuesday. Further details have not been released.
