WAKE FOREST, N.C. — The body of a teen has been recovered from a lake in North Carolina.

News outlets report that Wake County Sheriff Donnie Harrison says authorities responding to Falls Lake on Monday evening recovered the body of 19-year-old Annalisa Christine Schulze of Wake Forest.

Harrison says two men on all-terrain vehicles spotted a body in the lake, and thought the woman was having trouble, but realized she was floating. He says they are investigating the death as a drowning, but have not ruled out foul play. Harrison says he doesn’t know how long she was in the water.

Deputies found a nearby campsite with a tent and a possibly recent campfire that might be linked to Schulze. Authorities obtained a search warrant late Tuesday but haven’t revealed any findings.
