James P Baxter

FRANKLIN

James Patrick Baxter, 62, of Franklin, passed away at his residence in Franklin on August 2, 2017.

He was born to James Howard and Clare (Delaney) Baxter in Cleveland, Ohio on September 11, 1954. His father preceded him in death and his mother survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Molly Baxter Yaden of Greenwood and Laura Baxter (Lee) Britt of Trafalgar; one sister, Karen Baxter Bowman of Franklin; two grandchildren, Madelyn Yaden of Greenwood and Logan Britt of Trafalgar; one niece, Rachel Lawson Thomas of Flat Rock, and a nephew, Joe Lawson of Greenwood.

Jim graduated from Franklin Community High School in 1972, and upon graduation he entered the United States Air Force.

He worked for many years for Arvin Meritor in both Franklin and Greenwood. Upon the closing of Arvins, he worked for KYB Industries in Franklin until becoming disabled.

He enjoyed being outdoors, either hunting or fishing. His favorite pastime was hand-feeding the squirrels and watching humming birds from his back porch.

He also enjoyed watching old western movies and movie trivia.

A celebration of life will be held at the Franklin American Legion Post 205, 1200 Park Ave., Franklin, Thursday, August 10, from 4 to 8 p.m. Family and friends are welcome to attend.
