Sandy G. Wilson, 67, of Columbus, passed away on August 2, 2017 in Indianapolis.
She was born on October 8, 1949 in Connersville, to the late Lowell and Jewell (Grizzel) Wilson.
Sandy was a 1967 graduate of Connersville High School. Sandy spent nearly 29 years active duty in the military — six years in the Army and then 22-plus years in the Army National Guard, retiring as an E7.
After retiring from active duty, Sandy worked many years at Camp Atterbury.
Sandy is survived by her loving aunts, JoAnn (Od) Thurman, Hazel June Overton, uncle, Vernon Cook (Mary) Ray; cousin, Michele Shelly (Randy) Gill; loving friends, Donna Coldiron and Mary Cox. She is also survived by many cousins.
Sandy was preceded in death a brother, Michael Wilson.
Memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2017 from 10 a.m. to noon at Moster Mortuary, 334 North Main Street, Rushville. Military rites will be performed by the Rush County Veterans Honor Guard. Burial will be private at Orange Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Bartholomew County Humane Society or Martinsville Rescue Squad.
