Relocating business gets state incentive

An international company that designs and sells luggage is receiving state and city incentives to relocate its U.S. headquarters to Greenwood.

IT Luggage will receive up to $105,000 in tax credits from the Indiana Economic Development Corp. based on the amount of new employees the company hires, a news release said.

The new facility is set to open this fall once work on the building, which includes resurfacing the parking lot, building a new docking area, installing a fence, repairing exterior masonry and renovating the office space is complete, the release said.

Earlier this year, the Greenwood Redevelopment Commission unanimously approved giving $20,000 to IT Luggage, which will be moving its headquarters from Indianapolis to 1760 Industrial Drive. As a condition of the city’s incentive, the company stated it would add 14 jobs by 2021 and make about $500,000 in improvements to the property, which has been vacant for several years.
