QUEENSBURY, N.Y. — Authorities say one person is dead and another is hospitalized with serious injuries after three vehicles collided on a northern New York road.

The Warren County Sheriff’s office say a tractor-trailer, SUV and a car collided around 8:45 a.m. Monday on Route 149 in the town of Queensbury, on the southeastern boundary of the Adirondack Park 50 miles (80 kilometers) north of Albany.

Deputies say one person in the SUV was killed and another person in the same vehicle is hospitalized with life-threatening injuries. Police haven’t released their names, but say the victims are local residents.

The stretch of Route 149 where the crash occurred remains closed Monday afternoon.

The drivers of the tractor-trailer and car weren’t injured.

The cause of the crash is being investigated.
