LAKEWOOD, N.J. — Authorities say a shooting at a party held at a sports complex in New Jersey has left four people hospitalized.

Lakewood Detective Lt. Gregory Staffordsmith says the shooting was reported around 9:40 p.m. Saturday. The four victims were being treated for wounds that are considered serious but not life threatening.

Three men — a 28-year-old Englishtown resident and two Lakewood residents ages 24 and 53 — were shot in the leg. A 30-year-old Lakewood woman had a stomach wound.

The sports complex offers fields for recreational sports and a picnic area.

Two women and a man were arrested at the park while police investigated the scene and sought possible witnesses. But none of them have been charged in connection with the shootings.

A motive for the shootings remains under investigation.
